There is one decent method of fixing broken glass on induction hob - changing whole glass.
For those of you who do not want to spend 3/4 of original hob price just on glass there is method of temporary fix.
Before we begin I would like to state that I will not take any responsibility if something happens to you or your equipment after that repair.
Start of with buying clear RTV silicone adhesive and sealant which is called Pro Seal.
As label states it:
- withstands temperatures from -70 degree F (-56 degree C) up to 400 degree F (204 degree C),
- provides a flexible, waterproof seal for metal, glass, vinyl, rubber and wood,
- seals windshields and windows, insulates electrical fixtures and wires, plumbing leaks.
In order to fix it, first of all you need to clean it, degrease it, do not use water for it or you might get electrocuted.
Apply Pro Seal silicone to broken surface, and press it with your finger to insert it in the gap.
If you make mistake put too much or to little or go side ways wipe it of with paper towel and try again.
Then wait few hours for it to cure (full strength is achieved in 24 hours).
Bellow some pictures after fix, I know that it looks very bad but it works.
I have been using induction hub sealed with Pro Seal for about three months and as far everything is fine.
I just want to mention that I am not working for company that made Pro Seal and I am not getting any money for advertising theirs products.
I did find out about it from a friend who managed to seal roof in his car with it (it was leaking during heavy rains).
If you decide to use silicone to fix your induction stove please be careful and try not to spill anything on it.
